On the morning of Monday, the hospitality technology company OYO revealed intentions to expand into Rameswaram and Ramanathapuram through the opening of 50 new hotels and residential stays by the end of the year.
The plan, according to OYO, aims to protect and promote Rameswaram as a significant tourist destination while ensuring the preservation of the town’s rich cultural heritage. It will help the city realize its lurking tourism potential.
Most homestays will be located close to the Ramanathaswamy Temple, Tamil Nadu. In addition to boosting awareness of homestays by using various marketing techniques, OYO will instruct homestay owners on how they can expand their earnings by improving the experience of guests and running their properties profitably.
The hospitality platform also has plans to start and grow tourist activities like outdoor camping, hiking paths, and the study of marine biodiversity.
“OYO would like to assist in Rameswaram’s transformation into a popular tourist destination. Through a sustainable tourist development plan, we want to encourage distinctive experiences, reveal hidden jewels, and enhance this famous location’s tourism potential.
Ritesh Agarwal, founder and CEO of OYO, said, “We are committed to working closely with government authorities, local stakeholders, and the community to implement this tourism development plan productively.”
