This followed a competitive bidding involving Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Cummins, known for his impressive bowling and all-round capabilities, had previously played for Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals. His previous stint with KKR in 2020 saw him being bought for 15.5 crore INR.

3. Daryl Mitchell

In the recently concluded World Cup, the Kiwi batsman occupied the dominant position of No. 4, and scored an exceptional aggregate of 552 runs with an impressive 69. Notably, he recorded several centuries in two matches against India, cementing his reputation as a capable middle order player trust in him. His impressive performance on the field caught the attention of the CSK management, who made a huge investment to acquire this talented right-handed batsman for a whopping Rs 14 crore.

4. Harshal Patel

The medium pacer was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), but Punjab Kings (PBKS) showed faith in him, earning his services Rs 11.75 crore. A native of Haryana, Harshal Patel, the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2021, brings a variety of bowling techniques that could prove invaluable on the open courts of Mohali.

5. Alzarri Joseph

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have made a milestone by acquiring the services of the Caribbean fast bowler for Rs 11.5 crore. The move was aimed at strengthening their bowling line-up, following the release of Josh Hazlewood. In 2014, he was signed by the Delhi Capitals at a price of 12.50 crore, which was the highest price paid to any player of that season.

 4. Shreyas Iyer
