According to opposition politician Vijay Wadettiwar, Ajit Pawar was brought in by the BJP and PM Modi with the condition that Uncle Pawar join the NDA if he wanted to fulfill his goal of becoming Maharashtra Chief Minister.
The Congress leader claimed that this was the reason why Ajit frequently met with Pawar in response to a question on ‘secret’ meetings between Nephew and Uncle. BJP has got apprehensive ahead of Lok Sabha elections next year. Even after splitting the two parties, it was not satisfied. So it wants to include the NCP patriarch in their fold. They know that he is one of the tallest leaders across the country, with an enormous mass appeal. Therefore, they badly need his support for the victory,” he said.
Speaking about any contingency preparations if the NCP chief eventually joins the BJP, he stated that because the Congress Party is a national party, they always have numerous alternatives readily available.
