After a successful first season in 2023, the Womenโs Premier League (WPL) is set to be back with its second edition in 2024. However, the dates and schedule are yet to be announced but all five franchises have made headlines after BCCI unveiled the list of retained and released players of every team for WPL 2024.
Notably, a total of 60 players have been retained, while 29 players have been released by all five teams for the upcoming edition next year. The defending champions Mumbai Indians didnโt make too many changes to their winning squad and released just four players which leaves them with five remaining slots, including one for the overseas ahead WPL 2024 auction.

On the other hand, Gujarat Giants, who finished last in the points table in WPL 2023, have released half of their squad ahead of the auction. That means that they are left with 10 available slots ahead of the WPL 2024 auction, including three for the overseas players.
