There are nine Test member countries participating in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle. A Test team contests for 12 points in the WTC cycle. The sole criterion to measure the standing of a team in WTC is the Points Percentage System (PCT)%. Every time a Test team wins the match, the winning side receives 12 points, which means 100% PCT. However, following a loss, no point is earned by the losing side, resulting in 0 PCT. In case of a draw, both teams share four points, which gives 33.33% PCT to the teams, while a Tie yields six points for both sides, signifying a PCT of 50%. While several teams may get more or less number of Test matches during a WTC cycle, the PCT% bring a fair measure to evaluate the performance of teams. In the end, the top two teams in the points table advance to the WTC final match.
