As of 2023, she’s employing the same statute in the case against former President Donald Trump and 18 others.

In early 2021, Willis launched a criminal investigation into Trump’s attempts to influence Georgia officials to alter the 2020 election results. She’s taken steps like convening a special grand jury and sending target letters to several people involved in the alleged election interference.
