The Sri Lanka Cricket has given the green light to the sixth season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), starting on November 27, 2025. Noting a delay of one month, this domestic T20 tournament was originally scheduled for August 1. The grand finale of the LPL 2025 will take place on December 23.
The T20 matches will be hosted across three different stadiums –
- R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium – Colombo
- Pallekele International Cricket Stadium – Pallekele
- Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium – Dambulla
Samantha Dodanwela, the LPL director, stated that this tournament will be a fresh chance for the local Sri Lankan players to compete against renowned international faces. The LPL serves as a breakthrough for them to be ready for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, taking place in early 2026, with both Sri Lanka and India set to be the joint hosts.
