Praveen Kumar initially started his career with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008–2010. In 2010, while playing for the RCB in a match against the Rajasthan Royals, he hit the second-highest six at a distance of 124 m.  Right-handed medium-pace bowler Kumar is considered a representative of a traditional medium-pace bowler throughout India.

Being a bowler, Praveen has made an unbelievable record of hitting the second-longest six against the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2008. Kumar played well and hit the ball from a distance of 124 m that barely missed hitting the roof by a whisker.
