Neeraj Chopra’s Early Life
He has shown a natural talent for athletics since his childhood and his family encouraged him to join a gymnasium in Panipat to lose weight. It was from there that he started to develop a jevelin throw and after watching children nearby practice sports, he quickly started practicing.
Chopra’s interest in the javelin throw led him to undergo training at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Panchakula by Coach Naseem Ahmed and in 2012 he became the Under 16 National Champion.
